CTA Applauds Canada’s New Drone Safety Regulations

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2019 /CNW/ – The following statement is attributed to Douglas Johnson, vice president of technology policy, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM regarding today’s announcement by the Honourable Marc Garneau, Canada’s Minister of Transport, on Canada’s new drone safety regulations:

These new rules by Canadaare the first step in transforming the country’s aviation industry and will allow many of its sectors that rely on drone technology to grow. We thank Transport Canada for working with the public and private sectors and reaching reasonable approaches to drone registration and pilot certification, altitude restrictions and rules for nighttime operations in its first permanent regulations for drones.”
