November 30, 2022, Edmonton, Alberta – Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low fare airline, kicks off its inaugural flights from Edmonton and Fort McMurray today with the start of service to Tucson, Arizona. This week, Flair launches five inaugural routes across Canada, departing from Edmonton (YEG), Fort McMurray (YMM), Prince George (YXS), London (YXU), and Windsor (YQG), marking the first direct flights from Canada to Tucson, arriving at Tucson International Airport (TUS).

Flair Airlines To Increase Capacity by 50 per cent With Release of Summer 2023 Schedule

  • Seven new aircraft are set to enter into service for Summer 2023, bringing the total fleet to 27

Edmonton, Alberta September 28, 2022 – Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low fare airline, has increased frequencies across its network as part of the summer 2023 schedule. Today’s initial schedule release sees the number of seats on sale grow by 35% with more new routes to be announced in the coming months which will bring flair to 50% growth for the summer. The new schedule highlights Flair’s growth, as seven new aircraft are set to enter into service, providing Canadians more low-cost opportunities to connect to the people and experiences they love.

“We’re looking ahead to another busy summer next year and we’ve increased our capacity significantly to keep up with increased demand,” said Garth Lund, Chief Commercial Officer, Flair Airlines. “Welcoming an additional seven aircraft into our fleet allows us to increase frequencies on our most travelled routes, giving passengers more options. As we expand our fleet, we’re also thrilled to expand our team across the country as Canada’s largest low-fare airline.”

The seven new aircraft will be based across Flair’s Canadian bases. These aircraft will bring approximately 350 jobs to Flair’s bases across the country, including pilots, flight attendants, ground handling crews, and more.

Notable frequency increases include Vancouver to Toronto (YVR-YYZ), which will see an additional 10 weekly frequencies for a total of 21, as well as Calgary to Toronto (YYC-YYZ), which also ramp up to 21 weekly frequencies. Service from Montreal to Toronto has also increased with an additional eight weekly frequencies, bringing the total to 12. Summer favourites also return with increased frequencies, including Nashville and Deer Lake, as well as year-round service to Mexico.

The Summer 2023 schedule includes over 70 routes with fares starting as low as $19 from Abbotsford.

Flair Airlines adds affordable non-stop sun service between Toronto and Cancun, moves Los Angeles service to LAX

  • Twice weekly service from Toronto to Cancun begins November 3, beginning at $109 CAD

Edmonton, Alberta, August 3, 2022 – Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low fare airline, is adding another exciting route to its Mexico network with service to Cancun from Toronto. Twice weekly service will connect Torontonians to Cancun, nonstop. There will also be additional frequencies added on several Mexico routes. Flair is also moving its Los Angeles operations from Hollywood Burbank Airport to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), effective October 31.

We know that Canadians will be looking to beat the winter blues by escaping to the sandy beaches of Cancun, and we’ve added additional service to the airport to allow people to chase the sun affordably,” said Stephen Jones, Chief Executive Officer, Flair Airlines. “As we continue our growth in the Mexican market, we look forward to increasing frequencies on our routes and adding new destinations. Toronto to Cancun is now one of eight Mexican routes, joining service to Cancun from Kitchener-Waterloo and Ottawa. Travellers can also fly to Los Cabos from Abbotsford, Edmonton, and Vancouver (with increased frequency from 2x weekly to 3x weekly), as well as the newly added Puerto Vallarta routes from Edmonton and Vancouver this fall which will be increased from 1x weekly to 4x weekly.

Other changes for the winter include Flair’s move from Hollywood-Burbank to LAX. The airport is close to LA attractions such as Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills. Service to Los Angeles begins on October 31 from Edmonton (3x weekly) and November 1 from Vancouver (4x weekly). “We are thrilled to have secured gate availability at LAX’s spectacular new Tom Bradley International Terminal,” said Jones.
