Pilot OK after small plane crashes at southern Alberta airport

A small plane crashed at Hanna Airport in southern Alberta around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

RCMP said the the male pilot — and sole occupant of the plane — was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and later released.

The crash was determined to be non-criminal, RCMP said.

The Transportation Safety Board and Department of National Defence assisted in the investigation.

The plane is approximately 50 metres from the runway. It will be towed sometime today.

Hanna is roughly 210 kilometres northeast of Calgary.
